The short answer: JPJ's H series (H 1 to H 9999) was bid on JPJeBid from 16 to 20 September 2026. H 1 was won at RM10,777,777, a new national record, and the series raised RM91.21 million in total. 34,664 bidders took part and 8,223 numbers were won. H stands for Harmoni, and JPJ says it is the last single-letter series it will issue. Winners have 6 to 12 months to register their number to a vehicle; after that, an H plate can change hands through the normal JPJ interchange process.

The most contested numbers were not the single digits. H 1001 and H 100 drew 37 bidders each, and H 1805 drew 36, which shows how many people wanted an H plate they could realistically win.

What H means, and why it matters
H stands for Harmoni, harmony. JPJ released the series to mark Malaysia Day 2026, and its Director-General, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, described it as the last single letter JPJ will offer. There will be no more one-letter series after H, which is a large part of why the top numbers drew the bids they did.
Do not confuse it with taxi plates. Taxis use H followed by a state letter, such as HA for Perak. The Malaysia Day series is H followed directly by a number, from H 1 to H 9999.

JPJ set a minimum starting bid for each type of number:

What winners have to do next
Winning a number is not the same as having it on a car. According to JPJ, a winner must register the number to a vehicle within the approved period, which is between 6 and 12 months depending on the approval. A number that is not registered in time is reopened for public bidding.
Bidding for the H series itself is closed. If you missed it, the realistic routes now are a number that JPJ reopens later, or buying one from a winner once it is on a vehicle.
How to buy an H plate after the bid
